WANT

Now this is what previews for comics should look like!

Jen Wang‘s Koko Be Good is a book I’ve been waiting for for a while.

I’ll get details soon on where and when you can do this trick at home.

[Edit to Add: Jen has more details here.]

OT – HI Scott, I have just finished your “understanding comics”, and I would like to let you know it is one of my favourite books of all times (and I I ahve been reading 50 per year since the Eighties…).
    Thanks! Paolo

  2. Scott says:

    Thanks, Paolo!

Wish I could polish off 50 a year..

Hey, this looks great. I remember reading Ms. Wang’s Strings of Fate back when you recommened her as part of an up-and-coming group including Vera Brosgol and I-forget-who-else.

Do you have a new crop of up-and-coming young comickers to keep our eyes on?

Also, have you seen http://binsybaby.livejournal.com/597341.html ?

    • Scott says:

You’re thinking of Pants Press which also includes Dylan Meconis, Clio Chiang, Erika Moen, and “token male” Bill Mudron.

Will give some thought to the “new crop” question, though I’m a little freaked out at the thought that the Pants Pressers might no longer be considered “young” in some quarters. Time is flying way too quickly!

Good stuff at the link, btw. Have to keep an eye on those two.
