Look Familiar?

No big news today, so here’s a random slice from a random recent photo I took. Look familiar?

I’d say about 1 in 40 of you should recognize the above image right away. As for the rest, um… I guess I just think it looks cool.

  1. Mike L says:

It’s beautiful. I think what’s most interesting to me is that the only ‘natural’ thing in the photo is the sky and still this reads as something almost organic. Did you take this? And is it stitched together?

    • Scott says:

Yup, I took the photo myself and there was no stitching together.

It was just hi-res enough that when trimming to 340 pixels (the width of this column) it was a lot taller than wide.

      • Mike L says:

This just proves that cropping and composition are arts in and of themselves. I find your cropped version so much more interesting than the full photo.

  2. Is it one of the bridges in NYC?

  3. Lisa says:

Because of the long scroll to see it all top to bottom, you get a sense of towering massiveness from it, which the original photo may not have captured.

    • Scott says:

      I think you’re right to a degree.

See link to the original below theo’s correct guess.

      • Lisa says:

I like this version best. It really is like standing and looking up and up higher and higher, though it works best scrolling up from the bottom of course.

  4. JFPoulin says:

I would have say somewhere in Paris if would not have been for the walkway at the bottom… then I would say like Nat… NY no?

  5. NYC… Brooklyn Bridge?

  6. theo says:

    Is this the Williamsburg bridge?

  7. Tim Hamilton says:

I have ridden my bike across it many times!

  8. D says:

    Eiffel Tower?

  9. John says:

While I know it’s not, It looks like a photo shop composite with several beams sandwiched together to make it look extra complex, like the flight deck control panel shot from Airplane!

  10. Joseph says:

Reminds me of the tall panel in the online Zot
