Still Cool: The Zoomquilt
July 30th, 2009
ACGalaga mentioned it in yesterday’s comment thread and I’ve linked to it before, but it’s been a while, so here’s a reminder that The Zoomquilt (2007) is still out there and still as cool as ever.
If you haven’t seen it before, definitely take a look. And if, like me, you haven’t looked at it in a while, look at it again. Always something new to see.

It all came back to me! The main reason I thought of you when I saw this was because of a web comic you did a while back.
Beautiful. I wish I was watching it on a high def big screen TV with some kind of surround sound accompaniment. That would be a great installation at the Museum of Modern Art or something.
That z-dimensional comic was “The Right Number”
Wow.
When you zoom out the whole way it has this sort of powerless feel
That makes you sort of like your being lifted away and taken through a whole fantasy world. But then going forward feels more like a sort of ‘Dante’s Divine comedy’ sort of thing, were your being taken on a tour of another world. Especially with the sign that says ” Enter Zoom world, Leave reality behind”.
Cool.
