Happy 20th Birthday to The Simpsons!
December 17th, 2009
The Simpsons first hit the airwaves 20 years ago today! Great excuse to congratulate its creator Matt Groening (rhymes with “raining,” guys) for all his great work over the years.
AND a good excuse to link to this wonderfully creepy image by Roberto Parada:

I could have sworn in an interview with Matt that I had read that his name is pronounced like ‘groaning’
He usually says it rhymes with “complaining,” actually. Similar meanings.
I didn’t use that one ’cause people would have thought it was some dig. Works for him, though (usually).
Homer Simpson can appear pretty alarming when you un-toon him.

I liked Bryan Talbot’s version of a parallel world Homer and Bart

A shame that comic wasn’t done.
We love the Simpsons and anticipate the release of each season. Wish they would release more than 1 or 2 seasons a year. You can’t see these episodes too many times. Love the charactor packaging. We try to guess who will be featured on each year’s release.
