Haha, I saw the “Strong Female Characters” comics but I didn’t see the other one yet! Thanks!
I love both these ladies. I couldn’t stop laughing the other day when I saw the Strong Female Characters comic on lj (yes, I still use livejournal and follow artists on it, haha)
The Prince & The Sea was delightfully dark as are most of Emily Carroll’s comics.
Seeing that the Livejournal post has 147 comments as of today, I’d say you’re not alone!
At last! I’m geeking out about how well the single background format works in The Prince & The Sea. Emily Carrol sure knows how to pace an online narrative.
Kate Beaton is awesome. Not for only this reason, but she draws chicks in poses that would make most male artists uncomfortable. She’s blunt and bold. That’s awesome.
And the Emily Carroll story is amazingly drawn, though extremely eerie and creepy.
Was just reading your 5 1/2 chapter on webcomic formats and Emily Carroll came to mind. She does amazing things with the scroll-bar. I was going to tell you about her but it seems you’re already quite aware!
